St. Nikolai-church

Short facts

This Gothic brick church was built between 1230 and 1250 and is under the patronage of St. Nicholas, the patron saint of seafarers and grain merchants. Worth seeing is the late-Gothic transversely divided wooden wing altarpiece, the Blasius altar with a canopy and also the north side with its carving in the style of the Dutch Baroque with the depicting "Madonna on the crescent moon". Very impressive is also the bronze baptism font, erected on the back of three lions.
