Fährhafen Puttgarden

Short facts

The train station and the ferry port in Puttgarden were built in the 1960s as part of the "Vogelfluglinie", the direct traffic route between the metropolitan areas of Hamburg and Copenhagen.

Since then, the port is the starting point of the 45-minute and 19-kilometre-long ferry connection to Rödby in Denmark.

During a walk on the long pier you can see the large ferries passing by up close.
