Cycle paths on Fehmarn

Cross-country or map-planned cycling – both is possible on Fehmarn. And to make things easier for you, we have prepared five fascinating theme routes, all of them clearly signposted, on which you can start at any point, each one between 33 and 40 kilometres in length. You might as well use the popular tracks of the Baltic Coast Cycle Path or the Monk's Trail, the symbols of which are marked on the signposts.

In our map set for cyclists you will find individual sections and detailed descriptions of all the routes. It is available from our tourist information offices. If you prefer to access the tour descriptions digitally on your mobile phone, we recommend the Komoot app, through which all our theme routes and other routes as well are accessible.

For a break you may stop at one of the five marinas or enjoy some refreshment in one of the numerous farm cafés or farm shops along the routes.

Relaxing breaks with a panoramic view

Stretch out on one of the so-called field-sofas, comfortable, curved wooden benches that you will find at many beautiful lookouts along the coast and enjoy the view. Some of the field sofas can be turned 360 degrees. They are the perfect place for a picnic or a relaxing break during your bicycle tour on Fehmarn. Grab a book, stretch your feet and relax.

Whether you are using one of them on the edge of a field, on the dyke, with a view of the sea or on the harbour – just enjoy your time-out on one of these island-typical sunloungers. The largest field-sofa can be found in Lemkenhafen, directly at the bay of the Orther Reede, where more than ten people can sit back and watch the goings-on on the water at the same time.

Our insider tip: Visit the XXL field-sofa at sunset! This place is pure magic - the colouring of the sky is simply enchanting.

E-bike charging stations

Fast on travelling – if you are planning a somewhat longer tour or if there is too much wind, simply use an e-bike. Thanks to the well-developed network of charging stations, you can be sure never to run out of power. While the bike is being recharged, you can relax and also recharge your own batteries in one of the farm cafés or restaurants overlooking the sea, and enjoy some cake or a fish roll. Discover Fehmarn by e-bike!
